In June 2019 we last offered our community a tour of eight classic Ballard homes of enduring interest, quality and style. The 2019 tour featured homes built between 1905 and 1941.
We overheard many delightful conversations about quality details and memories of time spent in homes just like these, either close by or far away from Ballard! Thank you for a great effort to celebrate our unique culture and heritage.
In the years “between the Classic Home Tour,” we rest up and plan for the next tour!
Are you interested in volunteering for our tour? Volunteers receive training, and have an opportunity to tour the houses free of charge. There are many roles you can play, including marketing and social media expertise, Tour Headquarters help, and day-of tour docents. Please email the Classic Home Tour Coordinator at vc@ballardhistory.org.
Tour Highlights
Tickets are available online months before the tour. We offer online ticket options, tickets at one or more local businesses, and a limited number of tickets on the “day-of” at the Tour Headquarters.
Guests exchange their tickets for tour guidebooks at Tour Headquarters on the day of the tour. (Addresses are not available before this time.) Guests visit the homes on their own; no transportation is provided.
The Ballard Classic Home Tour is the Society’s premier fundraiser. Ticket purchases enable the organization to take part in educational community projects, offer free historical lectures and maintain our historical photo archive, among other projects.
The Ballard Historical Society was formed in 1988 and is dedicated to the celebration and preservation of the unique history and culture of Ballard, Washington. The society is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that provides community and educational programs and maintains an extensive photo archive.
